Sand Drain Dredger is widely used to recover materials from great depths and can also extract sand from below a clay overburden which is also called a jet sand suction dredger. The Sand Drain Dredger is equipped with a high-pressure water pump and a powerful sand suction pump. The water pump can produce a high-pressure high-speed water jet to impact the bottom of the sand layer and splash the mixed sand around the suction head, and the sand suction pump conveys the sand to the destination through the discharge pipe.

Mr. Peter is from Liberia and is a professional contractor for construction projects in Liberia. On April 5th, 2021, we received an email from Peter. There is a river in Liberia as his working site, he wanted to pump sand from the river and used the sand for construction after treatment. He had contacted someone who would provide the sand pumping equipment for the filter. Now, he contacted us about the sand dredging machine.
After receiving the email, we sent an email confirming the detailed working condition to him. Because the engineers needed to know the specific detail to confirm the river sand pumping boat which we supplied is the most suitable type for the customer.
The detailed working condition was as follows:
- Dredging depth( from the water level to the sand bed): 15 m
- Discharging distance( from the dredger to the stockpile): 400 m
- Vertical height( from the water level to stockpile): 5 m
- Sand capacity per hour: 200 m3/h
- particle size: 10 mm ( sand and small gravels)
- The sand bed is very loose, so sand is very easy to be jetted up.
According to the information Peter sent, the engineers recommended the 10-inch Sand Drain Dredger for him, equipped with our 10-inch heavy-duty sand pump. The specification of the Sand Drain Dredger is as follows:
- Dredger body: main hull: 6 m * 2.2 m *1.8m, 1 piece.
- Site pontoons: 8 m * 1.1 m * 1.5 m
- Sand pump size: 10 inches. Input diameter: 250 mm. Output diameter: 200 mm.
- Sand capacity: 200 - 300 m3/h
- Dredging depth: 20 m
- discharge distance: 400m
- Diesel engine power: 280 hp (to provide the power for the sand pump and water pump )
- Speed of sand diesel engine: 1800rpm
- Water pump for jetting sand: 4 inches.
- Water capacity: 100 m. Head: 50m.
- Generator power: 50kw, to provide the power for all the electric machine
In order to facilitate the operation and maintenance of customers, we have considered the following aspects in the design of the Sand Drain Dredger :
- Operation station: All the electrical parts can be controlled by the operation buttons and handles.
- Electric winch: 3 sets of the winch, connecting with the anchor to fix work location and balance while it was working.
After we sent the design specification of the Sand Drain Dredger , Mr. Peter said they would need some time to consider and discuss it. On Apr. 15th, 2021, we received feedback from Peter again. He discussed with his engineers and operators to confirm the design whether was suitable for them and whether they could operate it smoothly. He also requested we contact the technician in the workshop who was responsible for loading. The loading engineer calculated the space of all the goods and confirmed that all the goods ordered by the customer could be loaded into 2* 40 HQ containers. After all of his questions has been answered, we signed the order. The total order included one set 10-inch Sand Drain Dredger , one set propeller, 400m discharge PE pipes, and 30 pairs of floaters for some pipes. Then, we sent the PI with bank payment information together.
We received a 40% advance payment for the River Sand Pumping Machine from the customer on Apr. 20th. Then we arranged the production in our workshop. The production time we requested was 25 working days( till May 23). Finally, the Sand Drain Dredger completed production in May. 20th. The Sand Drain Dredger was finished as scheduled, then we did the running testing next. During the whole testing time, all the engines could be started smoothly and the pump was working well. So, we sent the testing video of the Sand Drain Dredger to the customer. Mr. Peter was very satisfied with the testing video. On May. 21st, he paid the 60% balance and asked us to arrange the shipment. According to his requests, we booked the earliest containers and vessel for him on the 22nd. The shipping time is on May 29th, so we loaded the Sand Drain Dredger on the 25th.
Then we charged the other things and confirmed the detailed information of the bill of loading. When all the detailed information was confirmed, we helped Peter do the necessary documents for customs clearance about this 10-inch river sand pumping boat and pipeline. After the vessel has left the port, we sent him the schedule for reference. " Nice service and professional support! Pleasant cooperation! Thanks for all the help and kindness!" Mr. Peter said.
